For thirteen years, Raftery served as Corporate Counsel and Vice President of Human Resources for American Golf Corporation, a 23,000-employee golf and country club operator. While there, Raftery earned a national reputation as a leader in business and employment law, strategic human resources, training, development and labor relations in the golf and hospitality industries. Prior to joining American Golf, Raftery was a business and employment litigator.
